Roleplaying Game
Finished: July 3

Well this would probably be more fun to play myself rather than watching. And I'm not that big of a fan of Tenna.

Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender (2026)
Animated Fantasy Film
Director: Lauren Montgomery
Finished: July 18
2.5/5
So mid. It was an underwhelming cash grab that had such high potential. It leaned too into fanservice, flanderized all the characters other than Aang, didn't even do Aang's character arc justice because the story was rushed and it didn't end up having much emotional impact, and underdeveloped the Denied. I liked that they made the gaang hot adults but could've done it without stealing their noses. The movie was pretty and the music and fights were nice. Secret Lost Indian Air Nomad Avatar Lady is a crazy concept that I do like. The Avatar franchise seems to be in a very Indian time of its life right now and that makes me a teensy bit excited and a lot bit scared.

Cars (2006)
Animated Sports Comedy Film
Director: John Lasseter
Finished: Sep 8
4.5/5
I really liked this movie! The romance was sooo bad though. I am surprised I kind of like Lightning McQueen. He got a good asshole redemption arc unliKE SAHOKO NARITA WHO NEVER LEARNED ANYTHING. Ahem- just a good movie generally. I feel like there was a billion references I didn't understand though. I loved how the cars were animated, it's so cute. I did not like the treatment of tractors though. #justicetotractors they're sentient vehicles too.

Helter Skelter (1995)
Psychological Horror Manga
Mangaka: Kyoko Okazaki
Finished: Aug 27 (at 12:30 AM)

I really enjoyed reading this manga. It really felt like the author had perfectly lined up dominos and then they fell at the time for everything to blow up. There is nobody you really root for in the manga which is interesting but you know the whole time that Ririka is going to have a downfall. You don't know how or when which is what makes it a uncomfortable read.

Chasing After Aoi Koshiba (2018)
Yuri Romance Manga
Mangaka: Hazuki Takeoka
Finished: Sep 8 (at 2:26 AM)
2/5
This was entertaining to read at first. I actually really like the "fake angel/perfect person" trope especially after reading 'His and Her Circumstances' but I feel like this was done way worse. The main character is an asshole and she never gets character development or consequences for her unhealthy mindset. They literally never explain why Anna and Aoi have beef. Anna never gets consequences for sexually assaulting Sahoko. If the reason why Sahoko rejects Aoi is because she is uncomfortable with intimacy after being sexually assaulted, it is not clearly written, because most people are confused by the ending of this manga. I really wanted to like this but oh well.

Goodbye, Lara (2026) (Ep 1-12)
Romance/Drama Anime
Director: Takushi Koide
Finished: Sep 8 (Eps 1-10)
Sep 12 (Ep 11)
Sep 20 (Ep 12)
3.5/5
This show is so gorgeous, I love the music and I love Lara. Though I'm honestly not convinced by the romantic relationship between Mari and Lara and I bet that it will be platonic true love that she feels with her. I like the characters, they're all fun. I feel like this show could've been longer. It is kind of rushed.
Edit: Okay episode 11 was really good. I have a soft spot for true love being familial or love between two sisters.
Edit: Episode 12 was odd. It was really heavy handed with the Utena references but had the opposite ending of Utena.

When does it get good? These writers cannot write a satisfactory setup and pay off if their life depended on it. These episodes all leave you like :/. I only like Tina. Look at her so happily hugging her siblings. She doesn't know they're evil.
Edit: Okay it went from a 2 to a 3.75. Season 3 is much better than the other seasons. Favorite character is still Tina.

I Dare You (2026) (Eps 1-29)
Thriller Webtoon
Creators: Bongsoo & dai
Finished: Sep 29
2.5/5
This was entertaining at first but got super repetitive and annoying REAL quick. I think Sarang is a little fun to read but everyone else is so just soo boring. I don't like the "romance" or the demonization of medication for mental illness.

Drama Webtoon
Creators: Grace NN & Bethany Higa

Maybe it's just me but I cannot handle coming out scenes. They're really corny 99% of the time. Outside of that, this concept is fun butttt we'll see how long it stays fun.
